TIPS to taking the best baby photos

Your photo session should be easy, enjoyable and completely stress free.

Here are a few tips, so you can get the best results, and the most enjoyment out of your photo session with Little Love In Love.

TIP 1

Don't worry about cleaning your entire home, just clear the space that has the most natural light in your house. Think big windows with sunshine streaming in, or just the room that seems the brightest in the house. We don’t need much space to take beautiful photos of you and your little fam.

TIP 2

Relax, enjoy and get lost in love, we’ve got this! Your job is to soak up the precious time you get to spend appreciating your baby. Interact with them; hold their hand, touch their nose, kiss their cheek. The love you have for your little one will fill your photographs with heart and soul

TIP 3

Also consider any cute blankets, outfits, meaningful gifts, or teddy’s you’d love included in the photographs. We recommend selecting soft, neutral tones for your baby, avoiding any extreme colours like blacks or bright pinks. Especially avoid deep or dark pinks and reds as these can emphasis the red tones in your babies skin.

TIP 4

When styling yourselves, stay true to who you are and what you feel comfortable in. You don’t need to be too matchy-matchy, but we do recommend avoiding extreme colour and items with large brand logos. Keeping your clothes neutral in tone and style will make for timeless photographs.

TIP 5

Put aside any cream/white/ neutral, knitted or textured blankets or sheets as potential ground coverage.

TIP 6

Avoid wearing big chunky watches or jewellery as it can be distracting from the pure gorgeousness of your little one.

TIP 7

Let you child run free and fully express themselves. What ever emotions they are feeling on the day, happy or sad, will be cherished for ever.

Little Baby Billie Shae

Taking a look through these gorgeous shots we guarantee you’ll be as smitten as we were with baby Billie Shae and her adoring parents.

Chloe and Jess were set to be married earlier this year in March, before Covid caused them to postpone. With a baby on the way and a wedding planned in an otherwise crazy year, things can got a little complex.

Despite all these hurdles in 2020, there’s always a silver lining and that little glimmer of joy came from their beautiful baby girl, Billie Shae.

Covid may prevent some gatherings and put a hold on wedding plans but love is never cancelled. With perfect timing, Billie Shae was born between Melbourne’s two lockdowns and we were able to capture some of the most precious newborn moments.

With big doe eyes and the cutest pouty face, we were all in love with Chloe and Jess’s new baby girl. The interactions between their cute and cozy family was enough to melt anyone’s heart.

We’re filled with so much love and joy to have been able to capture such sweet family moments and our Lost In Love Wedding team absolutely can’t wait to shoot Chloe + Jess’ wedding in 2021.

Baby Photos - Renee, Jamie & Eli

Photographing our dear friends and their sweet baby boy was a pure delight in itself, but nothing compares to the love held between their beautiful family (including their sweet pup Elly). 

With soft daylight filtering in through the windows, their home is a wicker and straw wonderland. From Eli’s cane changing table, to the incredible wooly yak artwork crafted with love by Jamie’s sister, Justine Barlow, everything is dreamy.

Each part of their home and lives is touched with love and compassion. Gentle and down to earth, Renee and Jamie’s gorgeous personalities and sentiment are reflected beautifully in their home, and in Eli’s lovely and relaxed nature.

One of our favourite moments was Renee singing a lullaby, drifting baby Eli off to sleep in her arms. With the voice of an angel, we were all mesmerised. 

Captivating and utterly in love, Renee and Jamie, with their new little love Eli, are just the sweetest family. We adored every second with these beautiful souls, to capture and cherish their little lost in love moments forever.
